Space Jam: A New Legacy Is Flopping Harder Than LeBron James

Hollywood, CA — Space Jam: A New Legacy is flopping harder than LeBron James on the basketball court.

The film is on track to lose over $100 million after it released last week.

After marketing and production, the film cost approximately $200 million dollars. Due to a lackluster release in the U.S. and China blocking the film from playing in the communist country, it is on track to gross only $60-70 million.

Outkick founder Clay Travis broke down the situation in a series of tweets.

“Despite LeBron James shutting up & dribbling for Chairman Xi, China still won’t allow Space Jam 2 to air, meaning the movie is likely to lose several hundred million dollars. Should be a massive story. LeBron bent the knee & China still spurned him. Yet media isn’t covering it,” Travis tweeted.

He continued, “Space Jam 2 cost $200 million to make and market and will likely only make $60-70 million without China. Meaning LeBron’s movie will lose over a hundred million dollars, at least. China blocking the movie is a huge story. But no one is even discussing it in media. Strange.”

“LeBron ripped the first amendment in the US, declined to speak up for basic human rights in China, & shut up and dribbled for Chairman Xi all to get Space Jam 2 on in China. And now LeBron won’t even talk about his movie being banned. Because he’s still afraid of upsetting China,” Travis concluded.

Despite James’ best efforts to side with China so the “Space Jam” sequel he starred in would make lots of money, China is sticking it to James anyway.

Travis is right. this should be a huge story. Yet, the mainstream media seems largely silent.

Now, this situation cannot be blamed solely on China or COVID-19 either (as some people are attempting to do).

The film received a dismal 29 percent rating from Rotten Tomatoes critics and has only earned $32 million at the box office so far.

The fact is, the film is flopping in the U.S. because it sucks. Of the people we have spoken with, there are not many fans of the original Space Jam movie that actually wanted to see the sequel made — regardless of whether they are fans of James or not.

  2. American Citizen Press? More like American Censoring Press. I posted 2 comments and both are awaiting moderation. I said nothing wrong, or offensive in either comment! One more site on BLOCK! CENSOR THAT!

    1. It has happened to me twice here as well as on American Action News, Reform Austin News, and America Revealed three times. No no profanity, obscenity, porn, nothing objectionable ever. I’m guessing this post also will await moderation until cows quit cud.

  3. I hope laboy James loses all his money on ignorant stuff like this nobody likes that babboon he should go to China and live we don’t want him in the United States he is a worthless un American baboon

  4. What did they expect? Most kids today don’t know who the Looney Tunes characters are. Kids today MIGHT know who LeBron James is. And why is it so important to show the movie in China?
LeBron James and the movie producers should have told the Chinese Government to F-off!

  5. one would think “people” like labonbon with all of their millions, or billions, that they would be supporting causes to help the under privileged, inter cities, very poor rural areas, or even other places in the world. It is in this country that they made their fortunes, they should feel a sense of obligation to help out. The problem is they do not care, and only will give lip service to doing so. They forget if they did not know how to play with a ball, they would be the under privileged, in prison, or dead. This also applies to those in hollyweird, and other people of good fortune. Many that acquired wealth in this country seen to want to control every thing they can, they seem to dive in to the realm of superiority, better than the real people, those people who actually help make their fortunes, on many different levels. The other part of this they become the worst role models for the youth in this county, and world wide, they seem to encourage too often the thug life. Apparently help to raise people up is not in their realm of thought. My opinion, I was brought up to try and help others, and I have, even when money was scarce, we all ways tried.

  6. This is what happens when you pander to the woke mob and communists. Everything is great and you make lots of money, they heap praise on you and help you as long as you are useful to them. The minute you are no longer useful to them, they leave you out in the cold or worse go after you and your family and destroy you. Don’t pander the woke mob and or side with communists.

  7. Who really cares about this movie besides the producers and elitist commie lovers like comrade James, who bashes capitalism but yet depends on it to live. So boo hoo hoo. Maybe the Marxist BLM and anarchists ANTIFA will buy tickets, Oh that’s right they’ll want free tickets. I don’t give a damn LeBron.

  8. Just think what $100,000,000 could have done to help kids and families in poverty… what a waste.

On the othe hand, I’m happy to hear about the loss. Must be killing his ego and false pride.

  9. I simply could not depart your web site before suggesting that I actually loved the standard info a person supply on your visitors? Is gonna be back frequently in order to inspect new posts.

  10. You really make it seem really easy with your presentation but I in finding this topic to be really one thing that I believe I might by no means understand. It kind of feels too complex and very broad for me. I am taking a look forward to your next publish, I’ll attempt to get the hang of it!

  11. Its like you read my mind! You seem to know so much about this, like you wrote the book in it or something. I think that you can do with a few pics to drive the message home a little bit, but other than that, this is excellent blog. An excellent read. I’ll certainly be back.
